sama-EngAugust-24-2011—Government troops, who were stealing firewood from civilians in Waingmaw Township, in Kachin State, northern Burma, were attacked Tuesday morning by Kachin Independence Army (KIA) troops.
Burmese soldiers from the military base in Sama Village were fired upon by KIA troops from the Hpalap Bum Infantry Division Command as they were taking firewood from local villagers without asking permission, local villagers said.
